Currency
Although Starlight still has two kinds of currency—
star fragments and
stars—they now only come in one type/colour: yellow, with each currency having different uses in our
Star Shop! To see a quick summary of what each currency can purchase in our shop or be used in other activities, as well as other relevant information, see below:

While not available at opening, eventually we will add a service where players can turn fragments into stars and vice versa! Please stay tuned for more updates and announcements on when this will be implemented.
STAR SHOP
Like mentioned before, various items can be purchased at our on-site shop, called the
Star Shop - which you must be logged in to view! You can use both star fragments and stars here, but only for specific items in our inventory. Some items can also be redeemed using specific coupons instead of the designated currency!

All cards in a pack will be randomly selected from ALL currently released decks of the purchased type! | Jar of Stars | A special item that can only be bought once every quarter (from January - March, April - June, etc) but will contain a variety of items such as choice cards, random cards, currency, coupons, and more! You can only open a purchased Jar of Stars at the end of the quarter when the contents of it are revealed but we will try to make sure the contents changes each time. | Stars |
| Shooting Stars | The Starlight equivalent of power ups and boosts that other TCGs have! At the moment, all of our available Shooting Stars are not permanent and have a pre-determined amount of uses before it loses its star power and fades away. There's no limit to how many total Shooting Stars you can have at once but you can only activate 1 of each type of Shooting Star at a time and must use it entirely before using another one (of the same type)! Although star fragments can also be used for
Bias Polaroids, more information on their usage and costs will be outlined on the
information page for the activity, instead of in the table above!
SHOP FAQ
Before asking any further questions about the shop, currency, or other related inquiries, please check the FAQ compiled below to make sure it hasn't already been answered.
- How do you purchase an item from the shop?
Click on the button for the item you want to purchase and you'll be redirected to a new page with a text box in it; type in the AMOUNT of times you want to purchase said item - if you only want one of it, type 1; if you want five, type 5!
You'll be redirected to another page after submitting that mini form, which will present you with your purchase(s). If you purchased choice cards however, you will get a second form that asks you to fill out which cards you want instead after doing the above; once you fill that out and submit it, then you will be redirected to your actual purchase!
All purchases will automatically deduct the currency used from your site count (viewable in your member panel and on the shop index) so feel free to cross check that with the amount you have on your own trade post to make sure it's working correctly. If you notice any discrepancies, please report it on the forums!
- I tried purchasing an item and got an empty page!
Double check that you actually entered in the amount of that item you want to purchase! The number you see already in the text box when clicking on an item to buy is just a placeholder so even if you also only want to purchase 1 of an item, you still need to type it in before submitting for the form to work.
if you do that and you're still getting an error, please report it on the forums!
- Can I purchase different items at once/the same time?
Unfortunately, due to coding restraints, this is not possible at this time! You will need to return to the shop index or a specific shop category for each item you want to purchase, and go through the forms/purchasing process every time. We apologize for the inconvenience!
- Can I use a mix of currency to purchase something?
No, you cannot! Whatever currency type an item costs, is all it will accept in order to purchase it. You cannot combine both fragments and stars to purchase anything!
Once we introduce the exchange system, then you can convert fragments to stars or vice versa and use what you obtain from that to make your desired purchase(s) - but until that service is added, you will just need to save up whatever currency you need.
